It can be hard to tell from a photo what the true size of an art glass sculpture is. For instance, some of our largest pieces are often assumed to be just inches high until you see them live. Yet, some small sculptures can look quite large and majestic in a photo.
So, we’ve selected a variety of both quite “Tall” and quite “Small” sculptures that might deceive the eye in a photo and must be seen in person to appreciate! Including works by Adriano Dalla Valentina, Afro Celotto, Alexis Silk, Ben Tullman, Cristiano Toso, Mariano Moro, Pete Patterson, Paull Rodrigue and more…

Avventurine is a type of glass that has sparkles with metal crystals that are literally grown within it. Initially, it was developed on the island Murano hundreds of years ago. Its name comes from the fact that it was a chancy technique – an adventure…
Calcedonia is an form of opaque colored glass developed on Murano in the 19th century. Then, it was intended to imitate agate, onyx and other decorative stone. However, the secret had been lost for years. Fortunately, modern glass artists have rediscovered it and are using this versatile glass in many creative ways.
