About Cristiano Toso
Biography – Italian, b. 1971, Murano, Venice, Italy, based in Murano, Venice, Italy
Cristiano Toso began his career at just 14 as an apprentice to the legendary Pino Signoretto. Because he was unable to work with Pino’s “heavy glass” pieces, he lasted just one week. Clearly, Cristiano has truly come full circle as a master of heavy glass work today!
Consequently, Toso continued his formal training at the Seguso Vetri d’Arte. Next, he continued working at Mirco D’Este and finally refined his skills with Berto Mattiello.
Cristiano Toso is a master at abstract, figurative sculpture. His he has the ability to imbue molten glass with a fundamental humanity. His work evokes feelings that everyone can relate to.
