This gorgeous vase is composed of alternating “windows” of “rainbow” murrini, mixing transparent filaments and opaque forms. The view is amazing from any angle!
Ben Tullman has mastered the traditional techniques of using “canes” of glass with complex patterns that are cut into slices called “murrini”. Two completely different murrini were used in the setup of this piece. Light is what gives glass life. The photos below were taken in a variety of types of light to provide the best possible idea what the full range of colors is.
Ben was featured at SOFA Chicago 2017.
