Oblivion Tear is characteristic of the work of Ben Tullman. Isn't the contemporary use of blue and purple in this teardrop vase rather stunning? Here, we can see that the abstract property of this use of the cane technique in Hotblown Glass is an amazing statement.

More Information

This vessel is created with a triple incalmo of purple and clear glass. However, there are two different shades of purple. Also, the “clear” glass has a pattern of cane rolled up it. While one side displays a deep purple glow, the other glows magenta. Finally, the patterns created by the overlap of the front and back create beautiful pattern.

Ben Tullman frequently uses striking colors and creative patterns in his fine art glass sculptures. Furthermore, he has mastered the creative and modern use of murrini and cane. Often, Tullman produces large scale glass sculptures made with exquisite patterns.  However, Tullman’s glass artwork has a sense of whimsy that belies the complexity and control required.

Ben was featured at SOFA Chicago 2017.
