The patterns created by the triangular murrini are both geometric and organic. This contributes to the dazzling projections of light through the piece.
This is piece is larger that you think at almost a foot tall – this is not a paperweight! Unlike most of our other stone-form pieces it is actually hollow – otherwise it would weigh in at about 60 pounds.
Ben Tullman frequently uses striking colors and creative patterns in his fine art glass sculptures. Furthermore, he has mastered the creative and modern use of murrini and cane. Often, Tullman produces large scale glass sculptures made with exquisite patterns. However, Tullman’s glass artwork has a sense of whimsy that belies the complexity and control required.
