This vivid multi-colors and yellow sailform vase is an astonishing piece of hot blown glass sculpture using axis change with battuto technique by the highly collectible glass artist Afro Celotto. At the most basic level, the abstract aspect of this work is an excellent example from this artist. Of course, the hot blown technique in Murano Glass is wonderfully impressive!
There is a definite front and back, with a clear axis through the piece, that includes multiple incalmos, cane, murrini, reticello, avventurine and delicate cold working – all in the same beautiful art glass sculpture.
