Hotblown glass sclupture by Ben Tullman.
Oblivion Amphora is an excellent example of the work of Ben Tullman. Can you see this splendid purple and green vase in your home? Naturally, the abstract nature of this use of the incalmo technique in Hotblown Glass is a really impressive statement.

More Information
This vessel is created with a triple incalmo of purple and clear glass. However, there are two different shades of purple. Also, the “clear” glass has a pattern of cane rolled up it. While one side displays a deep purple glow, the other shows a regular pattern of fine bubbles.
Finally, the satin finish and other details were completed with cold-work by Ricardo Ferro, a renowned molatore (cold-working master) on Murano.
Ben Tullman frequently uses striking colors and creative patterns in his fine art glass sculptures. Furthermore, he has mastered the creative and modern use of murrini and cane. Often, Tullman produces large scale glass sculptures made with exquisite patterns. However, Tullman’s glass artwork has a sense of whimsy that belies the complexity and control required.
Ben was featured at SOFA Chicago 2017.
